My Story
My love for woodworking began in the basement of a small cabin in Beulah, Colorado, where I’d sneak in time at the workbench - until my parents called it a night. That early passion never left. I spent years turning custom pieces on the lathe and selling at local art fairs, always drawn to the natural beauty and variety of wood.
Eventually, I pursued a career in engineering and became a professor of chemical engineering, a path I followed for over 30 years. But even while teaching, I kept creating—woodworking remained my way of staying grounded, creative, and hands-on.
Now retired, I’ve returned to my roots full-time. Today, I specialize in laser marquetry and large-format wall art, combining wood species, laser engraving, and scroll saw techniques to capture the spirit of places I’ve been—or hope to go. I also craft smaller functional pieces like diffusers and outlet covers, all designed to bring warmth and meaning to a space.
Each piece I make is handcrafted in Indiana with care and intention—and many can be personalized or custom-designed. If you have a special photo or place in mind, I’d love to bring it to life in wood.
